Are you a resolutions person? Or you just don’t or didn’t want to go there this year? Whatever your call was for this New Year, consensus on setting good habits are things we all desire to have no matter what our attitude or predisposition.
Many of us said good riddance to 2020 but learnt all to soon here in Australia and abroad, that our lives remained not quite the same, with Covid-19 still not defeated. Whether that was an experience with iso-time, quarantining, or just having to cover our smiles and holding onto our breathing plumes while secretly pretending to be masked superheros…… all for the benefit of our fellow humans!
No matter what your opinions or experiences are in this still challenging time of life for all of us, we think it’s a good call to have healthy goals and motivations in place. It helps us hold onto hope despite some uncertainties many of us might still be dealing with. It’s an opportunity to learn about ourselves and others for better perspective……we hope anyway 😉
FebFast, Dry July or any month blast….drinks on hold!
FebFast and Dry July are prominent annual calendar campaign event that is still given a blast by many wanting to kickstart the year on some good healthy habits as well as a bit of significant goodwill to consider (you raise money for a youth charity where young people experience serious disadvantage). It’s a great incentive to curb our urge for Alcohol , smoking/vaping or another vice like sugary sweet foods, or even going ‘Vege’ for a short burst. Instead, helping channel our radar into a good cause to help us focus elsewhere and with purpose. Whatever your choice, preference, leanings or what might touch your ‘goodness’ buttons during this time……it’s still a ‘good’ call….. even if its nearly March. It’s never too late to start really……

Its only been a couple of years since results were released about the benefits of cutting out habitual or dietary vices and the whole deal with ‘intermittent’ fasting. The switch can have positives effects on your whole body and brain. It allows you it to rest and restore through metabolic processes, protecting you against chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease and inflammatory bowel disease. So, results more specifically report your thinking and memory, with improved concentration are boosted. You generally feel healthier and are more productive with increased energy levels. Alcohol or other vices are not always cheap. So, not saying hello to them for a little while or longer will save your spondooly for other things. Like raising money for that charity you’re passionate about. Saving for that new fridge you need or filling your car up with petrol more easily. Whatever the desire or need, its good to feel a little more cashed up for a rainy day or seeing the difference you make with the more you give or wisely spend.

Concentrating our mind focus and energies into helping others at times is a healthy perspective changer that does wonders to assist us learn and even heal ourselves for the better. Incredible focus can come when those profound universe big picture principles come in play when we make an impact that changes other lives for the better.
Time out & mind over matter for reaching good habit goals
You think with the benefit of a sharper mind you might consider the time-out you’re taking and the self-care you’re establishing to see how important it is to just….Stop, refocus and Relax.
It’s important to understand that its still normal to encounter challenges with habits you’re trying to break as well as the times we still face collectively. Keeping that goal focus and setting up a daily routine that is regular and consistent are healthy and helpful for us to establish in focused times like this……and for the long term. Remember sleep and regular exercise are a big part of this……never neglect them……even those nanna naps when we need them!
We were built to be connected……full stop! Hence, we need our family and social networks to share, thrive, encourage, and be spurred on during these experiences……it’s a must!! So, get healthy and establish good habits with your Fam Bam or buddy; don’t do it alone.
